Cliques. Every high school has them--even the upscale, private ones.

Welcome to Greenwich Academy, a high-end private high school located just off of Greenwich Village in New York City. The year is 2025 and New York has been changing. The richest portions of the neighborhood have remained the same--Fifth Avenue, Brighton Beach, the Upper East Side. However, now those that were previously classified as 'poor' are now moving up. Yeah, just like the Jeffersons. Harlem is becoming an extended theatre district, with more clubs instead of apartments. Central Park has branched out and is now surrounded by million dollar condos.

The academy itself has only been around for ten years or so, but already it has a reputation for being one of the best high schools in the city--well on its way to being one of the best high schools in the United States. However, Greenwich Academy is not without its flaws. And said flaws come mainly in the form of secret parties, drug abuse, and plenty of underage sex. This is New York, after all.

Many of the children that attend this school are either very rich, or very intelligent. The rich ones come here just to be with people like them and the Academy is run, not the by principal (or so the kids say), but by two seniors that call themselves the King and Queen. And, like a king and queen, they have their own court of followers. They are known as the Elite. All of these kids are popular and oftentimes wealthy--not always intelligent. They are the ones that hold parties in their large condos or private homes when the parents are away. And the Wannabes, well, they are the kids that wish they were the Elites. Oftentimes they are running around doing what the Elites want, just like the Elites do what the King and Queen want.

From there popularity is divided between the Jocks, those guys that love sports; the Sluts, those guys and gals that have little to no morals...that and they just love sex; the Artists, the crafty ones who paint, draw, and act; the Musicians, what is a school without them?; and the Rebels, who are known for always being in trouble. And on the end of the spectrum we have the Burnouts, who are the kids that have lost all their motivation for doing work and have taken up drugs. The Nerds, who are mostly sought out and beaten up if they don't give any given Jock the right answer. And the Outcasts, who just have no idea where they should belong.

Things at Greenwich Academy may seem better than any other school in New York, but in actuality, they are worse. The Elite girls are vicious to each other and to those not in their clique. The Jocks beat up whoever doesn't agree with them on a daily basis. The fact remains, however, that everyone is just trying their best to get through the bad shit in order to find the good. Whatever the good may be.

So welcome, one and all, to Greenwich Academy.
