Play By: Emilie de Ravin
Appearance: Syla's golden hair falls in slight curls to just below her sholder. She enjoyes running her fingers through it absentmindedly when she's bored or when she's thinking. Her hair usually is down and has the appearence that she just woke up, but sometimes she likes to dress it up. Every so often, you'll see it pulled up with her bangs hanging across her face.
Syla's blue eyes stand out, no matter what she does. Even if her face is cast in compleat shadow, her gray-ish blue eyes pop through the dark and catch you by suprise. When she is feeling down, or it's not a very good day, the gray sometimes takes over and deepens the color. But, on the other side, on good days and when she's feeling happy, the blue takes over and the color lightens. And sometimes it's just a normal blue-gray.
When you get her laughing really hard, Syla has small dimples that come out. But when you don't, they dissapear into her naturally slightly red cheeks. Alot of people say that she has a beautiful smile, but thoes people are mostly her family. For instance, her Aunt Alena often comments on how beautiful it is and it's a shame she dosn't smile more often.
||off all the things that I can do[/font]
Likes: reading, friends, sleeping, the moon, reading by firelight, snow, winter, fall, leaves, the changing of fall to winter, sitting in trees and thinking/reading, ice skating.
Dislike: boats, water, summer, heat, wind, birthdays, the lake, everything in the lake, her tendency to fall out of the trees she sits in
Strengths: testing, memorization, staying asleep (she can sleep through anything), writing, piano,
Weaknesses: flying, speaking her mind, balance, family, keeping her mouth shut
Boggart: bees
Patronus: bobcat
Personality: Being the middle child, Syla is plauged with the Curse of the Middle Child. She often gets in trouble with her parents on the subject of her education, and her problems with her siblings. When she goes home during the holidays, she spends the time in her room with reading books. She would often get blaimed for things that her brother did. Instead of just accepting the fact that her parents will always side with either her older or younger sibling, she puts up a fight. Syla isn't the type of girl that will just step aside and let people walk all over her. She'll defend herself, even if it means going into an argument.
But, at Hogwarts she is somewhat of a diffrent person. Unless you really tick her off, she's not going to go around picking fights. If you do get into an argument, she will defend herself. But, she mostly keeps to herself. Often Syla sits infront of the hearth and reads one of her books that she brought from home. When she finishes books, she reccomends them to all her friends.
When she's not at home, or reading, she's with her friends. Again, she's a diffrent person. With her friends, there is nothing holding her back from being her true self. She loves to be very random with her friends, and she loves to just go around on walks with them around the lake. Sometimes, The Curse of the Middle Child comes out when she's with her friends. But, she just laughs it off with them and forget anything ever happened.
One of the things about Syla that can be annoying, is that she gets over things rather quickly. This can be problamatic when she's with her friends and they get into an argument. Within the hour of the argument, she is over it and wants to talk to her friend again. But, her friend usually isn't over it. Therefore, she has to wait a while for them to get over it too. This is also a problem because she is very stubborn. The stubborn aspect also plays into her standing up for what she knows is right.

History: The meaning for my obnoxiously long and hard to pronounce name? My parents come from fairly ancient families, and like the long and 'unique' names. To them, I should be honored to have such a pretty name. When ever teachers try to pronounce my name, they kill it. I don't think it's that hard, but I am living in the monkey house.
My mother is from the United States. Her father started up a really big company, and they hit it rich. My father met my mother when She was traveling to Ireland for her sister's birthday. She liked the fact that his name was unique, and he liked that her name was unique. Long story short, they liked uniqueness, fell in love, and graced their children unique names.
My family is... well, muggle. I hate that word. Some people may enjoy calling me a 'mud-blood' but, in theory, they are just insecure about their selves and their insecurities are not my problem. If someone insults me, or my name, I hold my head up high and ignore them like they were a piece of dust.
When I turned eleven, my parents weren't ecstatic about the fact that I was a witch. They were unhappy that I would be leaving home to go off to a school in England. At first, they were confused. They took it as an insult (witch meaning a not very nice person in their eyes), and at first refused to believe it and ignored the letter. But a few weeks later somebody from the school came and told them about Hogwarts.
They were still not very happy about me having to go all the way to Brittan. But, after a long conference between the two of the, they decided that it was my decision. Of course I said yes. What eleven year old kid wouldn't say yes to the chance to learn magic? At the time, I loved reading about magic and all the different things that went along with that.

Before the storm started, Alyssa was sitting on the beach. Yeah, it was in the middle of the night but she just loved sitting there where no one else was. Plus, she loved looking out onto the sea and plotting some more pranks.
She felt a rain drop land on her arm, and decided she had best be heading back to the Dorm Building. Alyssa could tell that it would start raining hard, and fast, and she still nedded to get to the other side of the Island. It would be a long walk in the rain. She just had to choose the furthest beach from the Dorm Building. She sliently cursed herself.
The rain started to pick up. She grabbed my bag and jogged over to the path and slowed down. She looked around. Everything was slient, except for the rain hitting the trees. No birds, no crickets, not even the usual murmur of people's voices.
About ten minutes later, Alyssa reached the Dorm Building. She pushed the Main Door open and hurried out of the rain. Shaking herself off, she looked around. Absoutly no one was around. She smiled, and went over to the elvator. Pressing the up button, she waited for it to come down.
She didn't have to wait long. Soon, she was standing outside her door. Room 306. Alyssa pulled her key out of her soaking wet bag and unlocked the door. Pushing it open, she looked inside. It was compleatly dark, except for a single candle lit. Sitting next to the candle was her room mate, Olivia. "Dude, it looks like you're gunna do something witch craft-y." she said and walked over to her bed.
Alyssa dropped her bag on her side table and looked out the window. From there, you could see the whole island. It was a beautiful view. Feel sorry for Lansing and Altec She thought. Thoes on the first and second floor didn't have much of a view, and she felt sorry for them.
"So, what exactly are you doing?" Alyssa asked, and grabbed her warm pajamas. She walked into the bathroom and changed quickly. Walking back to my bed, She sat down, waiting for her reply.
