Pandora's Door
Pandora was given a box by the gods, and she was told never to open it. However, the gods not only gave her a box, but a sense of curiosity as well. And even though life was great for the only female on earth for some time, she still yearned to see what was in that box of hers. When she eventually opened it, the horrors of mankind were unleashed. The good and bad part? She was able to save one inside, because she closed it quickly. She was able to save us hope.
*
And with hope humans are unreasonable; they fight to the end and never give up. There is always a tiny chance, to them, that they might live. And with that they cling on until the very ground beneath them is gone.
*
Entering Pandora's house was the problem; because once someone goes in, they're destined to die. It is not only the enterer's punishment, but the hunters' as well. They feel what the tainted feel, they know the pain that they give; but the human being must die by their own hands, or else they will suffer the ultimate hell. It is their curse, to feel the way that one dies. To not want to, but have to, or else it will get worse. It always does. And yet we are thankful for hope.
