I managed to find a really old post that uses an NPC. It sucks, but it's basically what I'm saying.

The scene seemed to draw to a close rather slower than one would expect when a professor interviened. Usually one would stop fighting immediately, and act all innocent, like it was all the other persons fault, but no. This time they just kept going, and one girl in green wasn't trying to hide it either.

"Oh, that makes you sooo cool!" Shouted Alison beside me, when the girl punched one of Ginny's friends in the eye (I really wish I knew thier names..) "And by cool, I mean your a Corny-Overweight-Overrated-Loser!"

That was a new one, and completely unexpected, so naturally I snorted halfway through a gulp of butter beer, and it almost came out of my nose. Almost I say. I stopped my chortle fast enough to prevent such an un-ladylike disaster. Not that I really cared anyways, that sort of thing is just really embarrasing.

I probably could have dealt with it.

I gave Alison an affectionate pat on the shoulder, and grabbed a shovel. I moved closer to the group around the professor, making it look like I was going to shovel that spot. In reality, I wouldn't have done any of this manual labour if it wasn't for my desire not to miss a single second of this.

Lucille was my character, and Alison was her friend/personal aide. I played the full post as Lucille, and mentioned what Alison was up to as well. Lucille =Character, Alison =NPC.

See, still not making sense to me because I can't see how she's used through out the entire RP or how this fight came to be or and other bits and pieces that must make the RP seem to make sense to you. To me that looks more like a Fan Fiction than an Role Play extract because you've almost got multiple POV's kind of going on and it's from a first person POV. As opposed to being written in a third person POV.0

Post Script, Managed to get the link to work eventually. My PC didn't like it, but to me, all those people look like they're playing multiple characters/God moding one another[/center][/size]

for now, i'm going to say no to the NPC app. I've been on sites where there has been rampant use of NPCs and in some cases can be helpful if you're trying to find something to talk about, but i've always found rping with somebody using an NPC cumbersome.

if you're interested in having a character -like a sibling for instance- but don't want to write a whole app for them, feel free to post on the requested character list and see if anyone would be willing to make them.

on a somewhat related note, we may eventually create a simpler app for various non-human characters (ghosts, house elves, etc.) depending upon the level of interest in playing such characters.

I must say I agree with Jamsey on this point <3 cause well.. i'm slightly scared that if we allow this. Mutiple characters will be played with one account. Occasionally there's nothing wrong with that, cause I rp'd Lecto's friend walking next to her when she was in Hogsmeade.. though it was all from Lecto's POV. it's just that I don't want to see a constant coming of characters we don't have a clue off and that are rp'd like normal characters... So basically if you really want to live those characters you should just make another application for them [/random rambling] But It was a nice suggestion, tg

How about if we change the amount of posts per page down to a number like 12, 15, or even 20. Otherwise at times it takes forever to scroll, especially with long posts (our thread being a prime example). Plus, it makes people (or just me =p) giddy when they roll over to page two and so on.
