Okay, so this is plain and simple enough. the site has just started and well, we're glad you decided to join. Yet now we'd like so feedback on what you guys want us to add. If it's possible we'll try it, else we'll certainly discuss it to make this site even better!
<3 you all,
Cissa

How about more boards/subboards to specific places inside Hogwarts, like the Room or Requirement, Trophy Room, girl's bathroom, etc etc. Wikepedia has the best collaboration of rooms and such.

What about a 'hello/goodbye' board for us to introduce ourselves, not the characters, and to say when we're going somewhere, or wont be on for a while.

here, under 'random discussion' i've added a thread for absences. i also added one for finding someone to rp with in the hope that it will help people get into our forum until one of us get around to creating an introduction thread for players. hope that will work for now.

NPC application? Just a simplified version of the character apps, for people who want to be able to RP a character as their own, with a pre-existing character, but don't want to have to make a whole new character. Like a brother or sister, or close friend, etc.
Ex.
Name: Age: Year: House: Blood: Personality: Appearance: Brief History:

Just chucking in my two cents worth on the above idea I'm not too keen on that personally because really, when applying for a new character whether it has been mention before as friend or family member, as much information as possible is still going to be needed for other characters to base new relationships with the new enough character on, and so the current Character Application page is the best for that as it is at the moment. However, if you really didn't want to actually RP them frequently, just have them mentioned, the surely you would mention information relevant to the RP in your posts That's just my take on it

It wouldn't be an application for a completely new character. NPC's generally are only RPed along with another character of that member, not as a seperate character, which is what the NPC template would be useful for. Although, to clarify further, this template wouldn't be used for NPC's such as waiters, etc., just regularly appearing NPC's, for example, my characters brother, who happens to be her best friend. I don't want to have to fill out a full character application just so they can eat breakfast together, but I also wouldn't want to just throw him into a post and be able to say absolutely anything about his appearance and personality.

True, but wouldn't that also open up the opportunity of some people to take advantage of that particular system and RP two people from one account when really, they should be using two separate accounts? Also shouldn't relevant information about siblings and friends be included in histories of the character applications. Who your character grew up with and such and I'm a bit confused as to why you might continously change your characters appearance or personality if you didn't have set guidelines for yourself. Surely this other character isn't going to be interacting with other characters of the boards because if so, surely they would need a separate account.

Again, the character would need to be played in posts along with whichever character they were made to be the friend of. I've used this system on sites that were, and weren't allowed multiple characters per account, and it worked fine. NPC = Non-Playable-Character. A character that cannot be played on their own. So, if the character the account was made for is in every post, then it wouldn't be like having two characters, because you are always playing it as that one character, just with the other character present.
And I'm not saying I would constantly change their personality or appearance, but it's a lot easier to remember the small details that might come out if there is a reference somewhere to look at. Also, it makes it easier for someone you might be rping with to look at a mini-profile, rather than you having to describe every detail of personality and appearance in every thread you rp with your character and that NPC in. Sure, you would describe the basics, what their wearing, hair, etc., in the thread, but some members like to be able to see the NPC in their mind better than 'a brown haired boy wearing jeans and a tee'.

Do you have a link to an example of a role play? Now I'm not understanding why you would have a mute character in an RP. There's the complete and utter possibility that my brain is just not processing all this information properly, so seeing it might help . . . or it would at least give me something to go back to in the morning to look over and see if I understand it after a decent nights sleep.
