Appearance: Xenophilius Lovegood is an eccentric sixth year student. He stands a little over 5’10 with long and glangly arms and legs that are considered a bit too long for his body. His wild eyes are a deep blue that seem to stare right through anyone willing to talk to him. His hair is never done quite right and it usually stands on end. The blond mop never seems to co-operate with any styling. Usually Xeno has a somewhat glazed over expression about his face. It looked as if he is off in his own world. When concentrated, his eyes go slightly crossed.
Xeno’s style is unique to say the least. Usually bound to the constraints of school uniforms, he manages to still put on that Lovegood twist. He wears many charms and medalians around his next to ward off dark magic and jinxes. His tie is always fashioned around his waist as an expression of his individualism, though sometimes the professors force the conforming change. He wears brightly colour (almost always mismatched) socks that are always visible under his dress pants. He is usually found without shoes as the ‘nargles’ tend to like to take them.

Personality: Xenophilius is a very complex individual. He is eccentric and many people consider him to be a bit insane. He is not afraid to say anything or do anything. He is very much a free spirit. At first sight it doesn’t seem to look like he is all the way there. He has a glazed over and slightly left of center look about him that makes people wonder if he is even listening, or if he is off in his own world.
One word to describe Xenophilius’ personality is ‘random’. He is not afraid to say whats on his mind, even if it has no relevance at all. He does the most awkward things without the conception that its inappropriate or weird.
Xeno is an extremely honest person. He tells you what he thinks no matter the situation. In his own way he can tell a person what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear. His language gets muddled up in metaphors and sayings but underneath all the weird wording he actually does have things to say.
Xeno is an individual. He doesn’t like fitting in or being considered normal. His creative and wild personality tends to keep people at a distance, but that does not mean he is aversive to friends. He tends to let his imagination run wild and take him away.
He isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in, even if his beliefs are slightly odd. He is extremely loyal to the few he holds dear. On the surface he is just that insane Ravenclaw, but he finds that no one can really read a book by just looking at the cover.

History: Xenophilius Eldin Lovegood was born on March 4th, 1960 to parents, Leland and Grace Lovegood. From an early age they knew he was something special. They raised him to be whatever he wanted to be. Xeno was always a rather imaginative child, who always swept himself away to more exciting and interesting worlds. His mother always encouraged his expression and even played with him during those early years.
Being an only child, Xeno did not have many companions growing up. He had his fair share of friends, but oddly enough no one could ever see. He was left to himself and soon turned to books for comfort. Like his imaginative worlds, the books swept Xeno away. He found that the ordinary world he was vound to live in did not captivate his interests. As he got older, he began writing his own stories.
Xeno was an exceedingly bright child. He was very much aware of the atrocities that went on in the world he lived in. He wanted more than anything to have the truth be told to him, but he found that newspapers as well as his parents would not allow that. He sought the truth, and made a conscious goal in his head that the truth would be what he wrote from then on.
At age eleven, Xeno received his Hogwarts letter and was soon sorted into the House of Ravenclaw just like the rest of his family. But when he went to school friends did not come as easily as they did for some. Many thought him to be weird, and a bit insane. It was hard to come back from a nickname that stuck like “Loony Lovegood”. Xeno didn’t mind though, he was happy to be included. He was not used to being around so many people all at once. He was happy to call them all friends, although the favour was not really reciprocated.
Xeno’s brilliance was often taken as a plight of insanity and socially he suffered for it. He had his books and his writing to keep him company. He had gained many acquaintances but never anything more. He spends much of his time fighting off the nargles.

The Hogwarts Library was one of the grandest rooms in all of England. It was lined wall to wall, floor to ceiling with book after book. Anything wizards and witches could possibly imagine was held within the pages of the old books sitting on the shelves waiting to be opened. Ready minds such as prefects and heads of house were also a regular in such a place like the library. One house more than most could more than likely be found here and that was the house of Ravenclaw. Books were their friends, and learning was their goal.
On no particular day in September the library was full of studious Ravenclaws (along with other houses), studying and doing homework. It had only been a few weeks into school and already people were stressing out about OWLS and NEWTS. All the quiet still in the library, not even a whisper could be heard from the confines of the solitude room.
All of a sudden a thud echoed through the room. Heads turned and quills dropped. Another thud, this time much much louder than the first was heard from one of the isle of books. Xenophilius Lovegood, one of the most eccentric and unconventional Ravenclaws had gone into the stacks some time before and had not been seen from since. Moments later, the tall blond came bounding out of the stacks, his eyes wild and his hair sat in a mess on the top of his head. He bounded across the room to the table that was scattered with an assortment of odds and ends. He took a seat and let out a long exaggerated breath. Everyone around him looked at him with grins on their faces as the whispered amongst themselves. Xeno couldn’t hear what they were saying as he was much too busy escaping from the strangling grasp of death. He had a table to himself in the far corner of the room. For some odd reason, Xenophilius always managed to get a table to himself. He looked around the room and then grabbed his charmed necklace that lay on the desk and put it around his neck.
“Bloody Nargels.” He muttered as his regular glazed look reappeared on his flustered face as he picked the quill from behind his ear, still thankful he had gotten out of the stacks alive.
