Yawning into the palm of her small hand, Lily Evans made her way quietly through the deserted corridors, occasionally shielding her eyes from the bright morning light that burst in through the windows. It was quite early, almost to early for the seventeen year old, but she had been disrupted that morning by a pigeon flying into the dorm window, and hadn't been able to drift off once again. In an attempt to occupy herself, Lily had collected a few of her things and left the common room completely, disapointed that none of her friends were awake, or at least in sight.
Although she was still rather tired, Lily simply blinked every few minutes to keep herself awake, so much to the point she looked as if she had a bad twitch. Had anyone seen it, they probably would've found it amusing, but she saw it as the only current way to prevent her from dozing off at random. After a good few minutes slow walking, she finally arrived at her destination; the library. For all she knew, Madam Pince wouldn't let students in so early, but that was a chance she was willing to take.
Making her way inside, Lily's emerald green eyes scanned the room quickly, a slight smile appearing on her face when she noticed a few younger students scurrying away on some parchment near the back of the room, and the Librarian, who didn't seem in the slightest bit tired, stacking books in the corner. Heading to the nearest table, the seventh year quietly took her seat, placing her bag on the table infront of her.
She sat for a moment doing nothing, but eventually began pulling her parchment, quill, ink and Potion's book out of her bag, placing it neatly on the table before dropping everything else onto the floor beneath the desk. Lily was no perfectionist, but still liked to keep everything neat and somewhat organized, hence her little layout of objects infront of her. The parchment was neatly positioned at the right angle for her write with, her quill sat beside the ink pot and her Potions book was opened to the right page in a matter of seconds.
Dipping her quill into the ink, Lily began writing in her neat cursive, putting a title onto the fresh piece of parchment. It simply read 'Amortentia and was complimented by a small ink love heart that Lily had added for decoration. Although most Professors would disaprove of this, she expected Slughorn wouldn't mind to much as long as she produced a fairly decent essay on the Love Potion. Letting out a long sigh, she began writing out her work, only on occasion would her green eyes flick upwards to check the book infront of her.

Remus didn't wear a watch, and it always annoyed him when he didn't know the time. He knew it was his own fault, he just couldn't bring himself to wear a watch, it wouldn't last long with his track record for clothing. Todays outfit was something very simple. Tatty old jeans, one of the only pairs he had left, and a long sleeved jumper. He always wore long sleeved shirts when he could, they hid the marks running up his arms. The book in front of him was possible one of the least interesting pieces of literature he'd ever encountered. He looked back, his blue-green eyes trying to make sense of the paragraph he'd been looking at for the last half hour. Nope, still nonsense.
He stiffled a yawn, trying to keep his eyes open. He usually dealt very well with fatigue, he was tired a lot of the time so he had to deal with it. This time he was going slightly over the top. He'd been up for almost 48 hours straight and it wasn't even full moon. Stress was another thing that irked his life. He did keep him slim, but it kept him really rather skinny as well, and for a five foot eleven young man, skinny wasn't usually good. Still, there wasn't much he could do about it. When stress struck he really did not feel like eating. He was right in the corner of the library. James and Sirius had stayed with him, chatting away until about half ten. They'd found that in this corner you couldn't be heard, and that Madam Pince hardly ever checked for students. It was the perfect place to stay.
It was also perfect because Remus had fallen asleep on his book at about half three that morning. He woke with a jolt as Madam Pince dropped a heavy book on the table. He sat up straight, looking at the formidable woman. She glared at him, looking down her nose. Then she walked off, tutting softly. Remus groaned, clicking his neck as he rubbed his stiff shoulders. His pale blonde hair was a mess, more of a mess than usual. He stood up, stretching out his stiff muscles. He ran a hand through his pale hair, shoving all his stuff back into his bag. He wasn't really in the mood to try and understand anything that had been written in that book. He slung his bag over his shoulder and walked out from behind the bookshelves.
He had no idea what the time was at the moment, but the place seemed to be busy enough. Most of them were the younger years, something he avoided. He stretched his palms towards the ceiling, his shoulders grinding against each other. That was disgusting. He probably looked slightly deshevelled, but he did his best to straightened his shirt. His eyes took one more look around the library, only to notice a certain red-head. He half-smiled. Lily. Taking his bag off his shoulder he walked over to the table where Lily was sitting. He dumped his bag lightly on the ground and took the comfortable chair opposite her. "What essay are you doing?" He asked, running his hand through his hair again, a habit, like glancing at the moon every time he was outside.

After about half an hour, Lily has successfully filled a page and a half, but was no where near finished, nor happy with what she had written. Sighing inwardly, the red haired tapped the ink from the end of her quill into the pot, and placed it back on the table, forcing herself to reread what she had already written. As she red, her pinky lips whispered each word so as she could hear it outloud, but no one else could.
As she came to the end of her essay, Lily shook her head and sat back in her chair, wringing her pained wrist for a minute or so. Usually, she was good with writing long essays, but that particular morning seemed to prove rather difficult to her. Reaching into her bag, the seventh year pulled out on of her favourite red ribbons, tying it into her hair and completing it with a simple, yet pretty, bow. Gazing around the library again, Lily noticed Madam Pince emerging from a darkened corner with a bothersome look on her face, and even more young students. Nothing interesting.
Moments later, Lily urged herself to continue, wanting to have the afternoon to herself, or at least doing something a little more interesting than writing essays. Raising her quill again, she dipped it carefully in the ink and immediately placed the tip on the parchment, the tip of it dancing from left to right. With every word she wrote, boredom seemed to take over her, and she was soon on the point of giving up when a bag dropped onto the floor beside the table.
Raising her head to see who had joined her, a smile immediately appeared on her face as she saw exactly who it was - Remus Lupin. Lily adored Remus in many ways, and found him a wonderful person to be around. She had no objections at all to him sitting with her, and instantly answered his question, putting her quill down again. "It's Potions, The Amortentia essay " She explained, fixing her fringe, pleased of a 'distraction'.

"It's Potions, The Amortentia essay" He glanced over at her piece of parchment, reading the first line of what she had written. He had developed a skill of reading upside-down. He didn't know why he'd done it, but he had. It was incase he was just too tired to get out of bed and there was a book on the floor. He could just leave it upside-down and read it from the comfort of his pillow. He wasn't lazy by nature, anyone could tell you that. He mostly looked as if he didn't get enough rest instead of too much. Teachers and proffessors would tell anyone that asked of what Remus' straight grades were, what his scored were in exams. His intelligence was inherrited from his father, although he didn't see much of his father any more. Occasionaly there was a letter at the breakfast table, but they had become less and less frequent as time went on.
Many could say that both of Remus' parents were slightly insane. His mother's mind had gone first, she never quite recovered from the attack when he was only around five. She'd been in the park at the time, but he never knew what had truely happened. She'd never been quite the same after that, and he'd started to feel more and more guilty. You couldn't blame him, since he had it stuck in his mind that he had brought on this on to her, that it was his fault. He'd been told by his father that he wasn't, but it's hard to convince someone so set in their ways as Remus could be. He was very determined to feel something and could be just as determined not to feel something. His years of being a werewolf had taught him real determination, the ability to block things out for as long as possible. Inevitably he gave way, but until then he fought as hard as he could.
Anyway, dwelling in the past was not going to do him any good at all. He tended to do it at night, and then would mentally slap himself for it. It did him no good. He was neglecting Lily in any case. "I know the one, I just about finished it last night. I don't see how you write so much sometimes." He said with a weary smile. "How long have you actually been here this morning?"

Lily, taking full advantage of Remus' arrival, had neglected her essay completely and was concentrating on nothing but the boy sat infront of her. Returning the smile he gave her, the red head shrugged lightly, unaware of how look she'd been sitting there. "I'm not too sure...
" She began, although she guessed it was somewhere around an hour and a half, " And, I don't see how you can finish it so quickly, Remmy" Lil continued with a light laugh. Despite the fact her essays were usually informative and pretty long, or so Professor Slughorn told her, Lily had never been one for rushing things, nor getting them done on time. Sure, it was rare she handed them in late, but planning to do homework at a set time never really worked for her. Deciding that her morning had been filled with enough writing about love potions, the seventh year reached forward to snap her book shut, and absently mindedly began inking small doodles on the front, whilst still paying attention to Remus. " So, how come you're on your own?" Lily asked, sounding somewhat lost. Her thoughts were stuck on a particular someone who Lupin was usually with, but felt it would be rude to refer to merely one of his friends. Brushing a few light strands away from her smiling face, Lil looked up and smiled at the other Gryffindor, waiting for his response. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
